Two years ago, the SCS implemented the network on Flow Chemistry to provide a platform for community members that are interested in this promising technology. After a successful one-day Symposium on Flow Chemistry during ILMAC 2021 in Basel and the implementation of a regular CHIMIA Column the SCS Flow Chemistry Board organized an SCS Seminar to also push the education of younger colleagues and to stimulate the exchange between the senior members.
The SCS Seminar on Flow Chemistry took place at "La Domaine" in Villars-sur-Glâne from June 27-29, 2022. 29 Participants, 5 sponsoring representatives and the teaching body (9 representatives from industry and academia) met during the three days.
The seminar focused on relevant issues of flow chemistry such as
- Batch to flow
- Flow reaction optimization
- Safety issues
- Scaling up
- Reactors and reactor design
Based on the positive feedback the organizing committee, led by Prof. Roger Marti (HEIA-Fr) and Marc-André Müller (DSM) plan to organize the next seminar in 2024 or 2025.
