The Division of Chemical Research (DCR) of the Swiss Chemical Society (SCS) is a professional group gathering all members of the SCS interested in chemical research.

The objectives of the DCR are the following :

• to maintain and extend a scientific forum for all scientists interested in chemical research so as to promote chemistry in general, and interdisciplinary collaborations in particular
• to organize a scientific program in the context of SCS spring and fall meetings, workshops, seminars and lectures, in collaboration with the other divisions of the SCS
• to set up friendly relations between chemistry departments located both in Swiss academiae and industries
• to promote the publication, in journals and proceedings, of the results obtained in chemical research

Broadly speaking, the activities of the DCR are coordinated with those of the SCS and its other divisions (Analytical Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry).

The Division of Chemical Research hosts the Swiss Young Chemists' Association and the Photochemistry Section.
